Foz do Iguaçu is the Brazilian gateway to the Iguazu Falls and sits on the border with Argentina and Paraguay. Most visits last two to four days.

How the city is laid out

  • Centre. Restaurants, shops and most of the budget and mid-range hotels. Buses to the park leave from here.
  • The road to the falls. Along the avenue that leads to the national park are larger hotels with pools and gardens, far from the centre but close to the entrance.
  • What to see. Besides the Brazilian side of the falls, the Itaipu dam and the crossing to the Argentine side of the park.
